Not just another contractor

Any contractor can price a job and put a team on site. The difference shows in how the work is run once it starts — in whether dates hold, whether the people you speak to are the ones accountable, and whether the right plant turns up when the programme needs it. That's where North Star is built to be different.

Reliability

When we agree a start date, we mobilise to it. Our programmes are realistic before they're signed off, so the dates we commit to are dates we can hold — and when plans change on site, our teams adjust rather than dig in. A large share of our work comes from clients who have used us before and come back, which is the clearest measure of whether a contractor does what it says it will.

Direct accountability to clients

There's no long line between you and the people delivering your job. The person you deal with is the person accountable for getting it right, backed by directly employed teams rather than layers of subcontractors passing responsibility down the chain. That means quicker answers, cleaner records, and a single point of contact who owns the outcome from mobilisation through to handover.

Modern plant and equipment ownership

We own and maintain our own plant and equipment rather than depending on hired-in kit. That gives us control over what arrives on site and when, so your programme isn't held up waiting on a third-party supplier. Well-maintained, modern machinery also means fewer breakdowns during critical works and safer operation around live services and tight, busy sites.

Health & Safety

We work in a diverse range of sectors, sometimes in potentially dangerous or harmful environments from large construction sites to utility networks through to vulnerable building structures. We pride ourselves on our track record of going about our work in a safe and secure way for all concerned. In recent years we have invested in improving our skills and necessary accreditations including CHAS, Construction-line and Safe Contractor amongst other more specialised authorisations.

Our dedicated workforce is trained to industry recognised standards and operatives are constantly provided with the necessary training to maintain their continuous development and knowledge within this field.

North Star also employ the services of an independent Health and Safety Consultancy firm who provide us with specialist advice and updates on changing legislation as well as carrying out regular site visits and audits.
